DTV Mod Takeover Weekend – Chaos, Laughter, and Questionable Balance Management

Every now and then, the great and mighty Doddy swaps the flashing reels for a well-earned family break. This past weekend was one of those rare occasions — and with Doddy off enjoying some much-needed downtime, the DTV Mod Team stepped up to keep the community entertained.

And when I say “stepped up”, I mean in the same way a toddler “steps up” to bake a cake — enthusiastic, messy, and more than a little unpredictable.

Thursday – The Triumphant Return of Quiz Night

The weekend kicked off with the long-awaited comeback of the Discord Quiz Night.
The turnout was huge, the banter was flying, and the questions… well, they were just hard enough to make you second-guess your own name. The mods proved they can handle a quiz without breaking anything (yet), and the only thing more competitive than the answers was the race to have the worst banter in the chat.

Friday – Milky’s Balance Battle

On Friday, Milky attempted to channel his inner Doddy and spin up a balance. Unfortunately, much like trying to build a house of cards in a hurricane, things got… unstable. It was a rollercoaster of near misses, false hope, and the occasional “we’re back in it!” moment — before reality came crashing down.
By the end, the balance had gone the way of Nicola in a school gym – down.

Saturday – Shinpad’s Slot Showdown

Saturday brought a new face to the hosting seat. Shinpad bravely took the reins to run her very first slot tournament. The support was fantastic, the competition fierce, and everything ran smoother than anyone expected… except for her laptop, which seemed one spin away from spontaneously combusting.
Still, it was a success, and Shinpad officially earned her stripes as a weekend warrior.

Sunday – Wez’s Speedrun to Zero

To round things off, Wez managed to find a decent balance, sparking hopes of a comeback story for the ages. Those hopes lasted about as long as a pint in Doddy’s hand. With precision only rivalled by lightning itself, Wez tanked the balance faster than Coley devours a kebab — a speed record we’re not entirely sure is something to be proud of.

Why the Community Matters

The DTV Mod Takeover Weekend wasn’t just about reels, balances, and questionable decision-making. It was a celebration of the DTV community itself. Without your support, participation, and relentless humour, none of these events would be worth running.

The mods might provide the chaos, the laughs, and the occasional big win (or mostly big loss), but it’s you, the community, that makes it all worthwhile. Whether you’re there for quiz nights, tournaments, or simply to heckle in chat, you’re the reason this works.

Because at the end of the day, without the community, everything the mods try to do would be about as effective as Milky’s Friday balance — over before it began.
